Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions set out the contract for a short term holiday rental formed between the Owners of Trewidden House (referred to as ‘us’ or ‘we’) and the person making the booking, who we require to be at least 18 years of age, and all members of that persons holiday party (referred to as ‘you’ or ‘your’). The contract will be governed by UK law, subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts and will start from the date we process your deposit.
Our availability page shows which weeks are booked, reserved or available. This gives an indication but is not a guarantee of availability. If you would like to book Trewidden House, please complete and submit the booking form on our website. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions set out below.
Deposits must be paid within seven days of making a reservation to secure a booking. If your deposit is not received within seven days, we regret that your reservation will lapse, and the week will become available to book again on our website.
A deposit of one third (33.33%) of the total booking fee is required to confirm your booking for bookings made more than 8 weeks in advance of your arrival date. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before your holiday, the full booking fee is payable upon booking. Once the deposit has been paid, the week you have reserved will show as booked on our website (if you pay over the weekend, this will not be actioned on our website until the next working day).
Paying the balance
The balance of the booking fee is payable eight weeks before your arrival date. If the booking fee is not paid eight weeks before your arrival date we reserve the right to cancel your holiday and re-let it.
Cancellations must be made to us in phone and writing (by email or letter). If you wish to cancel your booking more than 8 weeks before your date of arrival then your deposit will be retained. If you cancel your booking less than 8 weeks before your date of arrival the full booking fee will be retained. In either circumstance we will however re-advertise your cancelled dates on our website to try and re-let your booked dates and if we are successful, we will reimburse you the sum we re-let the house for, less an administration fee of £75.00. If we cannot re-let the property there will be no re-fund to you.
Cancellations beyond the control of the owner
If for any reason we have to cancel your booking due to Force Majeure (forces beyond our control) for example fire, flood, destruction/damage to the property, we will refund to you your booking fee in full if the cancellation is made before your arrival, or if we have to terminate your holiday part way through your holiday, you will be refunded the booking fee on a pro rata basis. No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.
Arrival and Departure
Unless agreed otherwise with us in advance of your arrival, you holiday will start and finish on a Friday, with the exception of short breaks. The property will be ready for your arrival from 5:00pm and all guests must depart by 10:00am on the day of departure. Please do not arrive before the arrival time as we will be busy preparing the house to ensure it is in the condition you would expect to find it.
Short breaks are available from November to the end of March, with the exception of school holidays and may be available at short notice at other times of the year. A short break must be for a minimum of three nights. Please contact us for prices and availability.
Care of the property
During your stay you are responsible for the property and we expect you to take reasonable care of it, its fixtures and fittings and to leave it in a reasonable clean and tidy condition at the end of your holiday. We do however appreciate that accidents happen. If any breakages or damage are inadvertently caused, please notify our housekeeper on the same day that it happens so we have as much time as possible to organise any necessary repairs or replacements for you and before the arrival of our next guests. We reserve the right to ask you to cover the reasonable cost of such repairs and for additional cleaning costs.
Use of the property
You must not use the property for any purpose except that of a holiday during your stay. Celebratory meals for birthdays and special occasions are welcomed and permitted, with the exception of wedding celebrations which must be agreed with us in advance and the wedding fee of £1,000.00 paid in advance and in addition to the balance of your booking fee. If you wish to invite additional guests to the number sleeping there for celebratory meals and/or have outside caterers to prepare meals for you, please let us know in advance.
Number of people at the property and sharing
Please be aware that the maximum number of people in your party sleeping in the property must not exceed either 15 or 10 people – dependent on the number of people you state at the time of booking.
Please be aware that for bookings made for the sleeps 10 option, three bedrooms will be locked for the duration of your holiday. You must not part with possession of the property or share it except with members of the party listed on the booking form.
We regret that smoking is not permitted in the property, please ensure that all members of your party are non-smokers.
Wi-Fi is provided free of charge and for your reasonable and lawful use of this service.
We make every effort to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. However, if you experience any problems during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible so we can resolve it. It is frustrating for all if you only tell us after your holiday. We want you to have a fantastic holiday and to return again one day!
Fireworks are not permitted at the property due to the proximity of livestock in neighbouring farms.
A maximum of two dogs are permitted at the property. Please ensure they stay in the back kitchen areas behind the stair gates provided. For the comfort of future guests, dogs are expressly not permitted in any area of the main kitchen, dining, drawing and morning room or anywhere on the first floor. Muddy dogs must enjoy the benefit of our lovely hot/cold external shower by the back door before re-entering the house.
We, our employees and representatives shall not be liable for loss, damage, expense, accident, injury or inconvenience whether to person or property howsoever caused. You must take all necessary steps to safeguard yourselves and your property.
Right of Entry
We reserve a right of entry for our employees and contractors at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or to carry out essential repairs or maintenance. We will agree this in advance with you except in the case of emergency.
